About Titans Space

Titans Space Industries and Titans Spaceplanes & Space Technologies (jointly called Titans Space) comprise a vast portfolio of incredible, revolutionary space infrastructure that will allow safe and efficient end-to-end space transportation, including spaceplanes and space stations for space tourism, commercial and industrial purposes, as well as for research, governments, and military usage.

Titans Space’s single-stage-to-orbit spaceplanes will facilitate orbital space flights for orbital cruises or going to Low-Earth Orbit, and sub-orbital flights for zero-g space tourism flights as well as ultra-fast point-to-point transportation for humans and cargo.

Our space tourism division is building the future of luxury space exploration with spaceplanes, spaceships, space stations, and lunar transport vehicles. Titan Space’s revolutionary LEO Space Station and Lunar Space Station will redefine humanity’s place amongst the stars, with lunar tourism, scientific research, and commercial mining applications.

Titans Space’s leadership has 150 years of combined experience in rocketry, aerospace, satellites, and aerodynamics. The company’s technological development is the responsibility of Franklin Ratliff, who -along with his team that includes the company’s principal founder Neal S. Lachman– has recently finalized the Critical Design Review of the company’s planned spaceplanes and spacecraft, paving the way for final analysis and design, and manufacturing.

In 2024, Titans Space will build facilities at a number of established air/spaceports in the United States and Europe. Several Memorandums of Understanding have been signed and/or are currently being finalized.

Franklin Ratliff has more than 40 years of experience with aerodynamics and rocketry, during which he has developed a broad understanding of rocket engineering and all aspects of aerodynamic design.

Franklin has been a frequent commentator and contributor in various forums and media on space , with a focus on the difficulties of space flight during ascend and descend between ground level and the top of the atmosphere.

Spaceplanes have long held a particular fascination for Franklin, having developed his first concept for a private suborbital spaceplane in 1980. Franklin also keeps up with past and current proposals for interplanetary flight and lunar bases.

Besides affording more than 40 years of experience in rocketry and aerospace, Franklin is also a polymath designer with a broad understanding of chemistry, physics, and engineering.

Franklin’s in-depth knowledge is uniquely encyclopedic and has already proven essential to the company. Titans Space is convinced that Franklin and other members of its core technology and development team, which consists of  and rocketry experts and consultants, can make spaceplanes, on-orbit refueling, and deep-, including safely landing on various terrain surfaces, happen in the very near future

Titans Space’s immediate objective is to develop spaceplanes for space tourism purposes. However, the company’s ultimate objective is to establish Titania Lunar, a colony on the Moon to industrialize and mine the Moon within the next 10-15 years.

Despite the media hype surrounding rockets like SpaceX’s Starship, routine , including human space travel, by means of rockets will not reach large numbers, basically due to the inherent risks and limitations of such vehicles.

For large scale space travel and space cargo transport to reach efficiency and safety levels like air travel/air cargo, the vehicles we use must operate like airplanes.

Titans Spaceplanes are designed as a revolutionary space transportation system that eliminates the need for expensive launch facilities, vehicle assembly buildings, and (expendable or reusable) all-rocket boosters. Titans Spaceplanes can operate from any (partnered) large airport, and it can carry a 90+ ton payload into any 555-km (300 nmi; 344 mi) orbit; it uses multi-cycle airbreather propulsion to reach the top of the troposphere and then ignites its rocket engines to reach Low-Earth Orbit.

These qualities, among many others, contribute to the Titans Spaceplanes’ operational flexibility, and will play key roles in fulfilling future earth/space transportation requirements. Titans Spaceplanes are also the only vehicles that can usher in the era of affordable space tourism, starting from $25,000 for an awe-inspiring sub-orbital zero-g flight

Our other spacecraft will allow a seamless end-to-end cis-lunar transportation experience that will bring about a paradigm shift in space travel, launches, and transport.

Titans Space aims to serve at least 25% of the global space launch market.

The Titans Main Rocket Engines are specifically designed to be an aircraft powerplant, and built for maximum reliability and durability. At over 1 million lbs thrust it has twice the thrust of a space shuttle SSME.

When we fire the engines, it will be only the second 1-million lbs thrust engine fired, and the first to do it using LOX/hydrogen.

How Revolutionary are the Titans Spaceplanes?

The Titans spaceplane is a one-of-a-kind airplane with a propulsion system and heat shielding that allows it to operate in the vacuum of space and to reenter Earth’s atmosphere.

The Titans Spaceplane is the first spaceplane to take off from a runway like an airplane.

Besides being used for safe, frequent, and efficient space tourism (flights and transport), Titans Spaceplanes allow for solutions that are (and may always be) impossible with vertically launched rocket vehicles.

Some examples

Orbital Transport

✓ Titans spaceplanes can transport cargo and passengers directly to and from any large airport in the world
✓ Flight duration: 120-180 minutes to any drop location
✓ Delivery to remote outposts
✓ No forward bases required (for military cargo drops)

The Titans spaceplanes can stay in orbit and deploy uncrewed reentry capsules, making precision landings under parafoil. Utilizing low-cost, single-use reentry capsules expands the Titans spaceplane’s cargo delivery and disaster relief capabilities to missions where a suitable airfield is not available, such as in remote or rural areas.

  • ✓ Orbital Trajectory: Ascend to orbit followed by 1.5 or two orbits until the vehicle is within range of the destination airfiel
  • ✓ Pin-Point Exact Delivery: Titans spaceplanes can deliver anywhere, from rural areas to deserts, or to a ship or submarine at sea.

Sub-Orbital Transport

Transport personnel and cargo anywhere in 120 Minutes – faster than hypersonic transport.

✓ Sub-Orbital Trajectory (arc)
✓ Flight time: 45-90 minutes to any location
✓ Ascend through a suborbital ballistic arc where the vehicle flies outside the atmosphere but stays below orbital velocity

Different from orbital flights, when utilizing a ballistic arc trajectory, Titans vehicles do not achieve orbital velocity. Instead, the vehicle climbs out of the atmosphere at speeds below orbital velocity.

The vehicle will ascend to approximately 200 kilometer (apogee), and continue its descend to the destination airport or spaceport.

Ultra-Fast (Point-to-Point) Travel

Travel Anywhere in 45-90 Minutes. Beyond Concorde; Capable of Space Transport.

Titans spaceplane fliers will travel in luxurious style. Most destinations are estimated to be reached within two hours – from take-off to landing.

Rocket lift-off requires passengers to remain in reclined position, strapped into their seats; Titans passengers will experience airplane-like comfort and ease.

✓ Sub-Orbital Trajectory (arc)
✓ Flight time: 45-90 minutes to any location – Faster than Hypersonic Travel
✓ Ascend through a suborbital ballistic arc where the vehicle flies outside the atmosphere but stays below orbital velocity
✓Land at any large airport: The vehicle can land at any contracted airport.

The rocket engines are switched off as our desired altitude (200 kilometers) is achieved. At that moment, for 10-15 minutes, the astronauts can unbuckle their restraint harnesses and proceed to the front of the Passenger Module and enjoy spectacular views of Earth and Space through the windows and viewing cupolas.

After approximately 10-15 minutes in space at zero-g, the astronauts return to their seats and buckle in for reentry and landing. The vehicle will ascend to approximately 200 kilometer (apogee), and continue its descend to the destination airport or spaceport.

The ultra-fast travel experience is identical to the Sub-Orbital Zero-G flight experience.

Other Unique Applications

A dream come true for space companies, military, and government agencies

Rapid Response Deployment to Orbit

Titans spaceplanes will have the exceptional capability of rapid response deployment of assets to orbit. For example, with one or two days notice a Titans spaceplane can carry a surveillance asset into orbit in its cargo bay, deploy the asset over the target area, then recover the asset and return with it to landing site.

Rather than a recoverable asset, a Titans spaceplane could also carry a satellite with a kick stage to boost it to a higher orbit. Response time of a Titans spaceplane would be determined by how much time is required to checkout and prepare a payload for launch.

This is one of the many applications the miliary has been wanting for decades that Titans spaceplanes can make happen.

Multiple Deployment Inclinations in Orbit

Titans Space is also investigating the potential for its spaceplanes to be able to change orbital inclination while already in orbit, by diving into the upper atmosphere, banking to change direction, then reboosting itself back into orbit in a new inclination. This could, for example, allow deployment of satellites to different orbital inclinations during the same flight.

Titans Rocket Engines

The Titans Rocket Engines are specifically designed to be an aircraft powerplant, and built for maximum reliability and durability. At over 1 million lbs thrust it has twice the thrust of a space shuttle SSME.

When we fire the engines, it will be only the second 1-million lbs thrust engine fired, and the first to do it using LOX/hydrogen.

Spacecraft

Currently, all space travel and space launch missions are severely restricted because there is only one way to get off planet Earth (and go to the Moon and further): Rockets.

This is where the Titans space transportation infrastructure brings about a revolutionary paradigm shift.

The main differences between our space projects and others’ are rooted in the fact that we own and operate our proprietary end-to-end (Earth surface to Lunar surface and vice versa) space transportation infrastructure.

What we’re buiding will allow something that’s presently beyond imagination for most people: visiting the Moon.

In the near future, you will be able to get on a Titans spaceplane transfer to the Titans Space Station in Low-Earth Orbit. Then, after boarding a Titans SpaceShip, you will be transported to the Titans Lunar OrbitalPort Space Station; all in about three days. Titans Lunar Yacht Transporters will transport you to the Titania Lunar Resort, and back (to the Lunar OrbitalPort).

Space Tourism

Titans Space is building the next generation of luxury travel in space, allowing clients to escape gravity, explore the stars, and visit the heavens in comfort and safety, and shape the future with groundbreaking research and development.

Titans Space is actively reinventing the space tourism industry through extensive development of proprietary technologies, and strategic acquisitions of competitors and key suppliers to create a vertically integrated operation.

Titans Space will command a majority of the market share of space tourism through manufacturing and operating space vehicles designed for reusability, reliability, energy efficiency, and safety.

Through the use of next generation spaceplanes and not traditional rockets, Titans Space creates affordable, safer,  and more environmentally friendly transportation systems that grant virtually unlimited access to space.

With regards to spaceplane tourism, we will offer two short-duration space flights:

1. Orbital Cruises (~5 hours)
2. Sub-Orbital Zero-G Flights (~90 minutes)

The Sub-Orbital Zero-G flights are somewhat similar to the Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic experiences, but the flight will last for 90 minutes. While the zero-g duration lasts around 10-15 minutes, you’ll get to see more of Earth!

Titans space tourists will travel in luxurious style, having access to their own Spacepod for the duration of a flight. You’ll take off from our spaceport facilities (e.g. in the USA), and you will end up at another partner spaceport, which may be half-way across the world.

Rocket lift-off requires passengers to remain in reclined position, strapped into their seats; Titans passengers will experience airplane-like comfort and ease.

Furthermore, from 2027/2028 onward, we plan to offer space vacations at our LEO Space Station, and ultimately at our Lunar Space Station and Lunar Resort.

It has been more than 70 years since commercial aviation started becoming mainstream. In recent decades, air travel has doubled and is deemed much safer than road travel. We’ve come far in just a few decades.

Space travel/transport, however, is still in its infancy. Titans Spaceplanes, a spin off from Titans Space Industries, is set to change that in the most revolutionary fashion imaginable, for the commercial as well as government and military markets.

The global space launch services market was estimated at US$15.8 billion in 2023 and is projected to surpass around US$38.93 billion in 2030 at a CAGR of around 13.7% from 2023 to 2030. (Source: Research & Markets)

Titans Spaceplanes & Space Technologies (TSST) will dominate the space launch services industry from the moment the first Titans Spaceplane becomes operational. While we aim for a substantial chunk of the market, we would settle for $10 billion in annual revenue, representing ~25% of the global market by 2030.

We expect earnings from that $10 billion to be between $2.5 and $5 billion per annum. At a conservative multiple of 10x, that would mean at the time of TSST’s IPO (planned between 2028 and 2030), TSST could be valued between $25 and $50 billion based on the space launches revenue potential alone.

TSI is building an end-to-end space transport infrastructure that will enable people to board a Titans Spaceplane to our Space Station in Low-Earth Orbit, transfer to a Titans Spaceship, and cruise to the Lunar Space Station in order to visit/work at the Titania Lunar Colony.

Titania Lunar is by far the most advanced and most realistic off-world settlement project to date.

An important strategic benefit of Titania Lunar, besides the fact that TSI can mine parts of the Moon and set up an entire lunar industry, is that it’s just three days travel from Earth.

TSI’s primary objectives with its Titania Lunar colony is to set up and prepare (soft and heavy) infrastructure for colonization and large-scale (heavy) industrial activity, including mining.

TSI’s upcoming cislunar and Lunar infrastructure enables TSI to industrialize the Moon, to commoditize precious/rare Earth metals, and to lighten Earth’s burdens by taking some heavy, polluting, and dangerous industries to the Moon.

“The world’s first trillionaire there will ever be, is the person who mines asteroids.” – World renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson

Obviously, TSI believes this to be true, but partly.

TSI’s projects are complicated in nature, but as contrarian as it sounds, we like to oversimplify things; it makes life easier for us. Reaching the asteroids is going to be a very long and difficult journey. Mining asteroids on an industrial scale is most likely thirty or even fifty years away.

However, Earth’s Moon reportedly has more resources/metals than all asteroids combined. TSI’s mining efforts will purely focus on mining the Moon.

This is yet another reason why industrializing the Moon is going to benefit Earth and all its living beings.

It starts with the Selene Mission, meant to establish a Cis-Lunar transportation infrastructure that will lay the groundwork for a permanent large-scale Moon colony.
